MADISON- Phillip Alioto, age 84, died June 15, 2018 at home in Madison, WI. He was born at home on Nov 1, 1933, in Milwaukee, WI; the son of Gaspare and Jennie (D'Angelo) Alioto. Phillip grew up in the historic 3rd ward district and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952 and Marquette University in 1956. He married Joan Czuppa on Apr 28, 1956 and moved to Fort Lee, VA where he served in the army. In 1958 they moved to Madison, WI where they raised 5 children. He worked for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection in the general lab division from 1958 until his retirement in 1991. Phillip would take his family on annual camping trips throughout the United States, visiting many of the national parks. He also enjoyed spending time at the "up north house" on Pelican Lake, fishing and being with his family. Phillip is survived by Joan, his wife of 62 years; 4 of his children: Susan, Michael, Patricia, Sandra (Thomas), and daughter-in-law Laurie. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Brittany (Sam), Peter (Kathryn), Matthew, Kayley, Maggie, Andrew (Erin), and Sammie; and 2 great-grandchildren Nathan and Phillip, all of Madison; sister Jennie Saikie, sister-in-law Carol of Milwaukee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jennie, Frank, John, Jasper; son Phillip, and grandchild Jennie. In keeping with the wishes of the family there will be no service and internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be gifted in Phillip's name to Agrace HospiceCare or a charity of your choice.
