Philip Trapp

McFarland- Philip Trapp, age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022.  He was born to Oscar and Irene (Morrison) Trapp on December 20, 1932 in Chicago, IL.

Philip graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI in 1955 with a degree in Accounting.  He then furthered his career with a CPA certification.  While in college he met his future wife Jane Lesnick.  They were married June 18, 1955 and had five children.

Philip’s first job after graduation was working for an accounting firm.  This job led into a long career with ConAgra as a Comptroller, managing the company’s financial health, he was always good with numbers.  Philip was the youngest of six siblings which included Virginia, Richard, Betty, Walter, and Irene.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; children, Douglas Trapp, Kenneth (Theresa) Trapp, Gary Trapp, Cindy (Charlie) Boyd, and Linda (Harold) Lohr; grandchildren, Gregory Trapp, Sarah Trapp, Melissa Trapp, Sean Trapp, Jackie Pitcher, Brad Trapp, Alex Lohr, Ben Lohr and Josh Lohr; great grandchildren, Gavyn Trapp, Charlotte Pitcher, Oliver Pitcher and Corbin Lohr-Acosta.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, 651 N. Main Street, Oregon, with Fr. Gary Wankerl presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.  Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, in the church fellowship hall, following the burial.  Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services at church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org . Philip’s family always turned to him when things needed fixing, nicknamed him Mr. Fixit.
