Peter Zimmer

VERONA -Peter Kelley Zimmer, age 35, passed away peacefully at home in Verona on Sunday, Jan 15. Pete was born November 16, 1981 in Madison to John and Melanie (Howe) Zimmer. He grew up in Hometown USA (Verona) and was a graduate of Verona High, class of 2000. Pete was a talented artist and took such joy in his family, and especially his precious grandparents. Pete had a special place in his heart for the family dog, Bella, as well as the many farm dogs who visited daily, for a treat and attention.

Peter is survived by his parents, John and Melanie, ; sister Laura (Ian) Haberman, South Milwaukee; grandparents Tim and Mary Howe, Madison; grandmother Jayne Zimmer, Middleton; Aunt Jenny and Uncle Mike Bennett, Madison; Uncle Peter Howe, Madison; Aunt Andrea and Uncle Ron Grosse, Middleton; Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Craig Kuenning, Madison; cousins Jake Bennett (Pahoua Lee), Sun Prairie; Rand Bennett (Ken Barker), Honolulu; Michael Roosa, Middleton; T.J. Roosa, Florida; and Hallie Kuenning (Brian Spencer), Madison; Dawn and Greg Levenick, Waunakee; Melissa Booth, North Carolina; and Kerry (Mary) Grosse, Middleton.

Pete was preceded in death by infant sister Marie Irene, infant brother William Raymond, infant sister Elizabeth Ashley, and Grandfather Bernard "Bud" Zimmer. A special thanks to the Dane County Sheriff's Department, Mount Horeb EMS, and the doctors and nurses at the UW Hospital and the Verona Family Practice Clinic for their extraordinary care, compassion and kindnesses to our family over the past months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration for donations to the Dane County Humane Society, 5132 Voges Rd., Madison, WI 53718. Private family services will be held at a later date.
