Peter O'Neil

Carol Ann O'Neil, 69, of Eden Prairie, MN, died May 3, 2016. She is survived by her daughter Kelly (Kevin) Gross; her son Tom (Erica); and four grandchildren, Cassie, Allie, Michael, and Gus. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, J. Peter O'Neil.

Carol was born in Chicago, IL, daughter of Edward and Helen (Waclawek) Sypniewski, and sister of Edward (Bettie) Sypniewski. Carol first worked as a secretary at Holy Family Hospital in Chicago and spent time taking college classes with the nuns. Carol and Peter married and moved to St. Louis, MO, where they spent the first five years of their marriage. Carol and Peter then moved to Waunakee, WI, and lived there for 40 years. She worked part time for the Waunakee Public Library while raising her children. Carol later accepted a position at Waunakee Elementary Schools as a Library and Computer Assistant. She loved reading, crafting, spending time with family and friends, and traveling with Peter.

Services will be held for Carol and Peter O'Neil on Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Westport, WI, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Waunakee Public Library Forever Fund.
