MADISON - Peter Bradley, age 67, passed away of natural causes on November 17, 2014. He was born on April 27, 1947 in Madison, WI, the son of Marshall and Anne Bradley. Pete was a graduate of Madison West High School, class of 1965. At West Pete excelled in a number of sports. As a sophomore he won the city sophomore 120 pound wrestling title. In his senior year he finished second in the state diving meet and was the all-round gymnastics state champion winning the horizontal bar and finishing second in parallel bars. Pete honed his gymnastics skills in his back yard on equipment made by his father. He continued to compete in gymnastics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he lettered all four years and served as team captain his senior year. His gymnastics coach and mentor was George Bauer. Pete graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 1969. After graduating he joined the Madison Police Department where he faithfully served the community as a caring, kind and selfless officer for 32 years.
Pete was an avid outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed sky diving and recorded hundreds of jumps as a member of Four Lakes Sky Diving where he also served as jump master. Pete liked scuba diving and traveled to numerous Caribbean Islands to enjoy this hobby. He was an active hunter and fisherman and often shared this time outdoors with his brother Mark. Pete was an animal lover who especially enjoyed the company of his pugs, Yoda and Magoo. Pete always had a smile to offer and a joke to share with friends, family and strangers alike. Pete selflessly gave his time to care for his failing parents, and spent many nights sleeping in a sleeping bag on their living room floor.
Peter is survived by his children Mark (Lisa) Bradley of Prior Lake, MN, and Christine Bradley of Prior Lake, MN; five grandchildren, Chase, Jared, Madison, Brandon and Rachel; one brother, Mark (Julie) Bradley of Madison and two sisters, Luann (Steve) Skinner and Maureen (Scott Bush) Bradley, all of Madison, WI.
