Peter Baker

Madison - Peter K. Baker, age 89, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Oakwood West. He was born in the Township of Edmund, WI in 1924 to the late Edmund and Anne (Keyes) Baker. Peter joined the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the Infantry. After he left military service, he began a career in sales. In 1948, he married Patricia Smith, and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage. Peter's true loves were golf, where he had many fun filled games with his friend Arnold "Curly" Andrews, his family and friends.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Patricia, three children; Jane (Ed) Jelinek, Daniel (Maureen) Baker, Mary Ann (Craig) Lewandowski, five grandchildren; Robert, Chad, Shawn, Amy and Angela, seven great-grandchildren, two nieces Annette and Alice, other relatives and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by one sister Elizabeth and one brother Edmund "Bud" Baker.
Friends and relatives may call at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church (401 S Owen Drive, Madison WI 5371) on Wednesday, April 23, from 10:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, with Msgr. Ken Fiedler presiding.
