McFarland / Stoughton - Pauline O. Kalhagen, age 90, passed away on January 18, 2016 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehab. She was born on October 31, 1925 in North Dakota, the daughter of Gustave and Gertrude (Javnaker) Nordberg. She married Alvin Kalhagen on March 1, 1947.
Pauline and Alvin raised their family and worked on the farm on Door Creek Road, where they grew Tobacco and livestock. She was well known for her abilities for sewing, quilting, and cooking. Everything Alvin would hunt or fish, Pauline would prepare a delicious meal. Together they traveled on fishing trips, snowmobiling, Vegas, and the occasional euchre tournament. She also never missed a night of bingo at Skaalen.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Judi Thompson; two grandchildren, JoDon Thompson and Chad Thompson; sister, Darlene (Thom) Lessner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin; parents; sister, Marilyn Wilberg; brothers, Glare and Arvin Nordberg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Skaalen Home Chapel, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday. Following the services a light meal will be provided. Pauline will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lower McFarland Cemetery.
