Obituary

Paula Marie Brewster, 75, of Stoughton passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI.

Paula was born on January 4, 1951, in Portage, Wis., to Milton and Joyce (Slowey) Loose.

Paula is survived by her sons; Eric (Natalie) Walters, Brett Walters and daughter Lindsey (Bronson) Blum; four grandchildren: Gregory, Rhea, Alyssa and Brayden Walters. Sisters, Sharon (Bob) Joswiak, Marnee Hafeman (Mike McHugh), Brother; Milton Loose; among many other extended family and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Milton and Joyce Loose; and husband/love of her life; Warren H. Brewster III.

Paula graduated with her associates degree from Madison College. When she moved to Stoughton she began her first career as a waitress at Halverson’s Supper Club. It is where she met her husband, gained lifelong friendships and built family memories. After 20+ years, Paula used her degree to begin her medical assistance career at UW Madison- Wingra Clinic. She retired from Wingra in 2017 and was proud to have worked with such special and talented people in the medical community. She was married in 1978 to Warren, and they spent 44 loving years together, and now they can have as many slow dances as possible from above.

Paula’s life reflected the virtues of love, kindness, faithfulness and had the gentlest soul. Her family finds comfort in remembering the happiness of family and friend get-togethers, holidays and celebrations while always embracing life’s beautiful everyday moments. The friendships she cultivated and the family she adored will remain her enduring legacy. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

“I am not gone, my precious child, I walk beside you, calm and mild.

When gentle winds blow through the tree, That is a quiet hug from me.

Do not weep for me or feel apart, I live forever in your heart.”

A service will be held at Covenant Lutheran Church in Stoughton on Friday, July 10th at 1 pm. A casual luncheon and celebration of Paula will follow at Halverson’s Everything Nice in Stoughton from 2-6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, you may also make direct donations to a charity of your own choice in the memory of Paula Brewster.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful people at Agrace Hospice, Skaalen Magnolia Memory Care of Stoughton, Pastor Wendy with Covenant Lutheran Church and Cress Funeral & Cremation Services.
