Paul W. Fisher

Stoughton- Paul W. Fisher, age 84, died on Thursday September 18, 2008 at Stoughton Hospital. He was born in Eagle Grove, Iowa on September 27 1923 the son of the late Roy and Mary (Martin) Fisher. Paul served four years in the US Navy during WWII. He married the love of his Life, Doris Anderson, on August 10, 1946 in Chicago. Together they raised four children, Mary, Paula, Susan and David. Paul worked as an x-ray equipment technician for several companies throughout the Midwest. He enjoyed gardening and was a big fan of the Bears and the Cubs. Paul was a creative wood worker and handyman, and in his later years he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and sharing his homemade Christmas candy.   Paul is survived by his children, Mary(Dan) Petersen, Paula Quinnert, Susan Fisher and David (Nancy) Fisher; eight grandchildren, Mark & Doug Petersen, Katie Quinnert, Jim Beckett, Ryan Kuzma, and Emily, Benjamin and Nathan Fisher; eight great-grandchildren, Alex & Cody Beckett, Ryan Saige, Jourdyn & Aylah Kuzma and Sage & Lars Petersen; brothers and sisters, Burton Fisher, Roy (Dolores) Fisher Jr., Doreen Myers, Rachael (Cliff) Carpenter, Gary Fisher, and Gloria (Gary) Rubendahl; and other relatives and friends.   Preceded in death by his parents; his wife Doris in 2007; and brothers Everett and Gordon Fisher.   Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday September 23, 2008 at Skaalen Chapel, 400 N. Morris, Stoughton, with Rev. James Koza officiating. Friends may greet the family from 1pm until the time of service on Tuesday. Thank you to Dr. Agni for nine years of health care and for his compassion and spirit, and everyone at Skaalen for their many kindnesses.
