Madison - Paul C. "Doc" Aulik, age 65 passed away on June 6, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 4, 1948, the son of Robert and Mary (Butter) Aulik in Madison, Wisconsin. Paul proudly served in the United States Army and used his talents as a medic during the Vietnam War. On September 9, 1972, Paul was united in marriage to Janet Meyer in Madison. Together they raised two children. Paul worked for Madison Metro for 27 years as a building maintenance foreman until his retirement in 2007. In his spare time you would always catch Paul on a bowling league, fishing, hunting, cooking and eating the delights that he prepared and was always up to a good game of cards. He was a very intelligent man, whom his family always leaned on for his vast knowledge or advice. Paul was an outstanding grandfather. His grandchildren meant the world to him and they had a special place in his heart. There was never a school event or ball games that went unattended by him.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Janet "Jan" Aulik of Madison, two children; Heather (Jason) Ackerman of DeForest and Mike (Carrie) Aulik of Portage, four grandchildren; Paige, Megan, Cody and Julia, a brother; John (Judy) Aulik of Idaho, sister-in-law; Betty Meyer of Madison, a niece; Kimberly Meyer, a nephew; Rusty Meyer and a close friend; Ron Reynolds of Madison. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 6:00pm with Pastor Erica Becker officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00pm until the time of services.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UW-Hospital and especially to Jason, Andrea, Jen, Luke, David and Katie in the UW-Trauma Unit for all the special care given to Paul and our family during this difficult time.
