Patty Glassen

Madison - Patty T. Glassen, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at UW Hospital. She was born on December 31, 1928 in Milwaukee to Bert and Grace Thornberg. Patty married M. Jack Glassen on May 10, 1952 in Madison. Patty taught math at Verona Schools for 22 years retiring in 1992, and continued to volunteer during retirement. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, bird watching in her back yard, and above all she loved her family and grandchildren. Patty was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Patty is survived by her children, Peter Glassen (Cheryl Mills), Nancy Stilwell (David); grandchildren, Patrick Stilwell, Brittany Stilwell (Stephan Reinke), Fred Glassen, and Kelly Glassen. She is further survived by her niece and nephew, Sue (Tom) Kirsling and John (Peggy) Striepling. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack in 1992; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Mike Striepling. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at BETHANY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service at church. Memorials may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church.
