Patrick (Pat) Frisch, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 29, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous six-and-a-half-year journey with cancer.
Born on August 28, 1952, in Madison, Wisconsin, Pat was the son of the late Leo and Catherine Frisch. He graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1971 and continued his education at MATC. He worked at Waste Management as a mechanic for 23 years, followed by time with UW Provisions, Marathon Mail, and most recently, Transit Solutions in McFarland.
Pat married Colleen Kelley, the love of his life, on September 29, 1979. They made their home in McFarland, where they raised their three children. Pat was happiest surrounded by family and friends–whether he was camping, fishing, or playing euchre. In later years, he loved to set sail on cruises and test his luck at the casino. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his greatest joys in life–watching the Packers together, passing on his euchre playing skills, attending their sporting events, and taking in the chaos of them running around the house. Pat will always be remembered for sharing his thoughts and opinions in his own unique way, being the life of the party, and bringing laughter to others with stories and memories he shared.
Pat is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughters, Kelly (Jason) Loy and Karly Frisch; son, Kevin (Morgan) Frisch; grandchildren, Mikayla, Chloe, Brooke, Dylan, and Alyssa Loy, and Graham Frisch; sisters Peggy (Dave) Plumer and Terri Frisch; brother-in-law, Kendall (Gretchen) Kelley; sister-in-law Kay (Charles) Breunig; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike Frisch; and brother-in-law, Wylie Childres.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the team at the UW Carbone Cancer Center–especially Douglas McNeel, Anthony Serritella, Meghan Wells, and Erica Glass–as well as the compassionate caregivers at Agrace Hospice, particularly Heather and Lexi, for their dedicated care during his final months.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 at Cress Funeral Home (6021 University Ave, Madison) at 12:00pm with visitation from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
