Patricia Zwettler

Madison - Patricia A. Zwettler, age 79, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Four Winds Manor in Verona. She was born on April 3, 1935 to Edmund and Ruby (Locke) Kutschera in Milwaukee. Pat was united in marriage to Thomas J. Zwettler on October 16, 1954, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last October.

Pat was adventurous and interested in culture, spiritualism, travel, and the world. Pat was very progressive for her time. She supported the civil rights movement, she loved yoga, and teaching, and children. Pat was actively involved with the American Field Service (AFS), promoting a cross cultural understanding. She loved all animals and wildlife, especially watching birds outside her home in Baraboo. Pat and Tom traveled many places around the world, and after Tom retired, they went to Tunisia with the Peace Corps. In her retirement years, Pat delivered Meals On Wheels and tutored English with the literacy council. Pat was a great mom and grandmother, and had a welcoming heart as a foster parent.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Tom; children, Joseph (Dorothy) Zwettler of Maryville, Illinois, Jeanne (Michael) Mraz of Madison, Kim Zwettler of Sun Prairie, and Philip (Cassandra Brown) Zwettler of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Gregor (Eva) Mraz, Sian (Derick) Alberts, Sarah (Alan) Ziesche, Daniel Kerwin, and Paul (Linda) Kerwin; great-grandchild, Daphne Marie; brother, Michael (Jan) Kutschera; sister, Mary (Ralph) Scholz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Frank; her parents; sisters, Lois and Therese; and a brother, Ralph.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Family would like to thank their extended family and wonderful staff at Four Winds Manor in Verona and at Agrace HospiceCare for the extraordinary care and support they have given to Pat.
