Stoughton - Patricia Anne Wagaman
After listening to President Obama sing the promises of "Amazing Grace" Friday evening, June 26, Patricia Anne Wagaman, age 88, passed away at Skaalen Home.
Pat and her twin brother, Robert, were born in Kansas City, MO, April 22, 1927, to Attorney Ray and Gladys Potter. As a child her family moved to Tipton, IA, where she spent her childhood and youth. In Tipton she was active in the school's music programs and played at community events. Pat attended Cedar Falls State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa).
She was married to James Wagaman and they had two daughters, Georgia and Judy. They lived in several communities in Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin due to her husband's promotional opportunities. Pat was active in each city with her daughters' parent-teacher organizations and their church, often playing the piano and teaching Sunday School.
After their divorce Pat worked for the Poor Sisters of Nazareth Nursing Home, where she was one of the "Three Pats" on the third floor (Pat Strand, who survives, the late Pat Roloff, and herself). In addition to her work duties, she played the piano for special occasions.
In addition to music, Pat enjoyed keeping up with current events. Pat enjoyed pets throughout her life, especially her feline companions.
Pat is survived by her two daughters, Georgia and Judy, and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother, Robert, and her sister, Ruth Cram.
