Stoughton- Patricia Carol Renault, age 69, entered into eternal life from Agrace Hospice Center on All Saints Day, Tuesday, November 1, 2016, after two and one half years of treatment protocols, accompanied by diligent and knowledgeable and compassionate care, she is now free from suffering. Patty was born on June 18, 1947 at Fort Benning, Georgia. The oldest of four children, she was a precocious child, winning several academic and other awards of excellence. She received a B.A. in Psychology from Dayton University and then attended Duquesne University to advance her studies. On November 30, 1973 she married David Druckenbrod. In 1978 Patty and David started Stoughton Family Counseling, which is currently in it's 38 year of operation. She enjoyed cooking at St. Ann School and the Nazareth House. Sr. Gertrude described her as "a remarkable woman who showed enthusiasm for everything she did." A decade later, Patty branched out to work at a travel agency in Madison. She was a leader in many environments and was identified as someone who never failed to act when necessary. Patty served as President of the Stoughton Hockey Association, Chair of the Syttende Mai Run, Stoughton School Board, and most currently was President of the Yahara Lake District until she became ill. She was seen by family and friends as brilliant, beautiful, unpretentious, and was gifted as finding the positive in difficult situations. Patty was a constant support to those who knew her. Even strangers were left with a giggle in their belly after talking with Patty. She was very grateful for a special neighborhood that nurtured the children and celebrated life events. Patty's strong faith and duty to love resulted in her doing many simple acts of charity for the community, most of which were left unsigned. Patty is survived by her husband of 43 years, David, and their children, Samantha, Noah, Aaron, and Jesse. Also surviving are her siblings, George Renault III (Cindy), Paulette Renault (Patrick), and Kathleen Renault; along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Col. George Renault II and Patricia Renault; and brother-in-law, Al Smith. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Stoughton, with Msgr. Gerard Healy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a reception following the burial at the family home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass Saturday at church. The family would like to thank those who have provided care and support during this difficult journey, especially all of the wonderful medical staff. Please direct donations in Patty's name to Agrace HospiceCare Inc., 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711, or Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Denver, CO. Please share your memories of Patty.
