Patricia Kramer

May 30, 1943 — March 31, 2013

Madison - Patricia "Patty" Kramer, age 69, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013, after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer; she was surrounded by her family at UW Hospital.

Patty was born in Milwaukee on May 30, 1943, to parents Genevieve and Walter Stumpf. She graduated from Marquette University in 1967 and, shortly thereafter, moved to Madison where she worked for the State of Wisconsin for 32 years. In 1968, Patty met Robert "Bob" Kramer on a Marquette Avalanche Ski Club trip to Colorado. Their love of the mountains and skiing brought them together and led to years of fun and adventure.

After retirement on January 1, 2000, Patty enjoyed traveling the world with Bob and other close friends. She loved skiing, exploring the wilderness, spending time with family and friends, playing with her granddaughter, and attending Wisconsin and Marquette sporting events - especially Marquette basketball games. She also took great pleasure in volunteering for Wisconsin Swimming, Inc. and Attic Angels.

She was an amazing and exceptionally loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She gave the best hugs. Patty's family and friends will remember her by her warm smile and her willingness to help.

Patty is survived by her father, Walter Stumpf; husband, Bob Kramer; daughter Michelle Schindler; son-in-law, Dieter Schindler; granddaughter, Genevieve Schindler; brothers, George Stumpf and Jerry Stumpf; nieces and nephews, Annie Stumpf, John Stumpf, Kathy Thompson, and Jackie Vincent.

Patty's family gives special thanks to Dr. David Kushner and the GYN/ONC care team at the Carbone Cancer Center and UW Hospital for giving Patty exceptional care and 6 more extraordinary years of life.
