Stoughton- Patricia May (Johnson) Gehrke, age 65, passed away at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born in Stoughton on September 29, 1946, a daughter of Joseph and Clara (Jevanaker) Anderson. On February 16, 1963, she was married to Ronald Johnson in Stoughton. Ronald preceded her in death on October 5, 1990. Pat married Michael Gehrke on October 6, 2001. Michael preceded her in death on January 10, 2005. Over the years, Pat worked at Stoughton Hospital, different nursing homes, and retired from WPS after working there for many years. She enjoyed gardening, camping, her dogs, bingo and listening to old time country music; especially Johnny Cash. Pat loved life and enjoyed being around family and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Scott (Pam) Johnson; 2 daughters, Peggy (Joe) Hanson and Bobbi Jo Hammersley; grandchildren, Brian, Heather and Nick Johnson, Jacob Madson, Brandi and Bryce Hanson, and Carson, Kyle and Kailey Hammersley; a sister, Carol Gauger; mother-in-law, Ellen Johnson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 2 sisters, Janice Olson and Terry Anderson; and father-in-law, Elwood Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton with the Rev. Jerry Pribbenow officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of services. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery South in Stoughton, followed by a luncheon reception at the Stoughton VFW Hall.
