Patricia Allen

Madison - Patricia S. Allen, 84, of Madison, passed away on May 15, 2018 at the University of Wisconsin Madison University Hospital. She was born on September 7, 1933 in Middletown, New York the daughter of Joseph and Olga Shumake. She married Vernon Allen on December 31, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts. Patricia received her doctorate in Educational Psychology and worked as a Clinical Psychologist for Wisconsin State Department of Corrections. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, painting, and spending time with all of the people she loved.

She belonged to many groups that supported women's rights, environmental and animal rights, as well as groups which promoted peaceful co-existence between all human beings. She is survived by her two children, Danica and Craig, Danica's son, Jeffrey, Craig's wife, Patty and their son, Reece; her two brothers and wives, Steve and Roseann Shumake, Jim and Susan Shumake, and numerous nephews and nieces. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Olga Shumake and her husband, Vernon Allen. A memorial will be performed at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
