MADISON- Pamela E. McNelly died on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on May 21st, 1924 in London, England, the daughter of George and Edith Thompson. She married John McNelly on December 21st, 1952 in London.
Pam was born and raised in London, England. She was a teenager when World War II broke out. During the war, she helped aid and care for wounded civilians and with patrolling her neighborhood. While her formal education was cut short by the war, she remained an avid life-long learner. Her interests included gardening, traveling, and reading.
Pam is survived by her daughter Barbara, her son Duncan (Linda Candlin), and her granddaughter Laura. She is preceded in death by her husband John, and her granddaughter Ariana.
A memorial open house will be held at Olbrich Botanical Gardens, 3330 Atwood Ave, Madison on Friday June 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to stop by for food, drink and memories of Pam and John McNelly.
The family wishes to thank Agrace and Dr. Tyler Steward for their care over the past several years and also John Porto and Kristin Ripp for all the immeasurable friendship and support.
