Orville Dale Wiemann, age 93, of Madison, passed away peacefully October 28, 2025.
Born June 18, 1932, to John and Bena (Olsen) Wiemann, Alexander, Iowa, as second of 10 children. He is survived by his siblings Marjorie, Robert, Barbara, and Janet (Kay), all living in Iowa. Married to DeLores Steenblock, September 29, 1950, they celebrated 71 years of marriage before her passing, and nine children; Michael, Jeffrey (Annette), Bruce (Dawn), Cheryl, Kevin (Sheila), Lorraine (Michael Randall), Curtis (Lisa Baumann), Rick (Cindy) and Peter. He was also blessed with more than 75 grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Orville served in the US Army (1952-1954), stationed primarily in Trieste, Italy, during the Korean Conflict. Originally a farmer in Iowa, he moved his young family to Madison in 1966, eventually retiring from the US Postal Service. Christian faith was foundational to his entire life. Deeply committed to the study of scripture, he taught regularly in church and Bible studies. At age 58 he went back to school and studied to become a minister within the Pentecost Church. His belief was the Bible is to be believed as it is written, so he leaves this life with the fervent expectation to be reunited with his loving wife, and all of his family and friends that preceded him in joining Christ.
Orville was preceded in death by his wife DeLores, siblings Helen, Lester, Roger, David and Dennis, his infant son Michael, daughter Cheryl, son Rick, son-in-law Michael Randall, grandsons Kyle (Randall-Hachmeister) and Michael (Hachmeister), and greatgrandchildren Atley Potter (Leah Wiemann), Hayden (Van Dinter), Aurora (Steinweg), and Sophia (Zak Wiemann).
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Cress Funeral Home in Sun Prairie, preceded by a viewing for family and friends from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Orville will be laid to rest in Belmond, Iowa, on Saturday, November 8, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM.
Any memorials can be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW) in his memory…
