Opal ""Sue"" Meicher

McFarland- Opal ""Sue"" Meicher, age 85, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009.   She was born in Lodi on April 9, 1924, daughter of Oscar and Ella (Phillips) Smith.  After Oscars passing Sue was raised by her mother and Orville Plank.   She is survived by her seven children, Burdette (Carl Sr.) Lacey, Darrell Swenby, Susan Podell, Kendall Swenby, Jenni (Mike) Quam, Julie Barter and Kevin Swenby; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; The Greg Meicher Family; sisters, Mabel Quamme and Inez MacIntire; brother, Lee (Wanda) Grimm; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.   Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Swenby; her husband, Greg Meicher; and brother, Carlton Grimm.   Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home in McFarland.   Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.   Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon at the McFarland American Legion immediately following the burial.   Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Monday.   A special thank you to Dr. David Hei and to HospiceCare Inc.
