Olymbia B. Loniello, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 22, 2015 while in the loving care of her grandson, Antony F. Loniello. Olymbia was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 15, 1922 of Greek immigrant parents, George and Jane Speropolous, later shortened to Spyros. Soon after birth her family relocated to Madison, Wisconsin where her father opened a chocolate shop named the Butterfly Candy Kitchen. She met her husband, Samuel A. Loniello, while working as a sales clerk at her father's chocolate shop. Later Olymbia helped her husband build his own successful chocolate company in Madison named Bob White Candy Company.
She is predeceased by her husband and her son, George. She is survived by three other sons, Samuel, Gary and Nicholas, and many beloved grandchildren. She lived her last years a happy resident of the Westshire Village senior campus in Westport. Known for her physical beauty, hearty laugh and kind soul, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Many claim she made the best pasta sauce known to mankind.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the CRESS CENTER, 6021 University Ave., Madison, WI 53705, with visitation from 10 am until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, and friends and family are invited to a luncheon following the entombment at the Cress Center.
