Olive Tétreault

October 19, 1921 — October 24, 2016

Olive M. Tétreault passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the age of 95 years after a graceful and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. The former Olive M. Frizzle was born on October 19, 1921 to Thomas D. and Effie L. (Hastings) Frizzle. She graduated from Sutton, Quebec Business College. Olive worked at the Royal Bank of Canada in Montreal. As a proud Canadian, Olive also dedicated four years of service in the Royal Canadian Air Force (WD).

Olive may have left her native Canada as a young wife and mother, but Canada never really left her heart. She collected maple leaf jewelry as a remembrance of her first home and also wore nick names of "Canada" and "Quebeque" as a badge of Canadian honor!

Olive married George C. Tétreault on August 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1983. Olive was a member of the Zor Shriners Hospital Auxiliary-Antioch Temple #113, Zor Shriners Widow AZBA, Bethel XYZ, and Christ Presbyterian Church.

As a woman of great faith, Olive was a devoted member of Christ Presbyterian Church. Her church family and its missions were very dear to her heart and everyday life. In making sure all those welcomed were well-fed, Olive also volunteered in the church kitchen in charge of desserts.
Olive loved the outdoors. She enjoyed daily walks, watching the birds, gardening, and even fighting off the squirrels! She also loved a good hand of cards and volunteering at the local food pantry.

Olive will be remembered by her children George (Julie) of Baxter, MN, Ann Louise of Madison, and John (Judy) of Madison; grandchildren Kelly Ann Tétreault of Madison, Karla Ann (TJ) Lutz of Richfield, MN, Scott Thomas Tétreault of Brooklyn Center, MN, and Stacy Brittany Tétreault of Minneapolis, MN. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and three brothers.

Gathering will be from 2-3:00 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 944 E. Gorham St., Madison, WI 53703 with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Dale Chapin presiding. Olive will be brought to her final place of rest with a private family burial at Iron Hill & Center Road Cemetery in Quebec, Canada at a later time.

Memorials are appreciated to Christ Presbyterian Church or Daughters of the Nile Foundation (6705 Mesa Drive, Austin TX 78731-2817).
