MADISON- Olga Bakawa, age 96, left this world peacefully on February 26, 2013 at her last home, Rest Haven Care Center, Verona, Wis. Her daughter Lois and son-in-law Charles were with her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael, parents, siblings, and other relatives. She is survived by her children Lois Evenson (Charles), Robert Bakawa (Fanny), grandchildren Sandra Beyer (Howard), Andrew Evenson (Paula), Amber Evenson (Andrew Dean) and great grandchildren Haley, Delaney, Libbey, and Charles. She is survived by her dear friend Hildegard Fischer whose strength and faith sustained her daughter through this final journey. The family is deeply indebted to the wonderful care she received at Rest Haven, where the staff and residents had each become her loving extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass.
