Norton Gahr

MADISON/MICHIGAN CITY--Norton Gahr, 90 of Madison formerly of Michigan City, IN, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 4:28 pm. Norton was born on August 8, 1921 in Chicago, Il. to Benjamin and Clara (Ackerman) Gahr who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by Evelyn (Mickey) Gahr.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy (William) Schwartz of Madison; children: Sandee (Joe) Noe, Steven (Gala) Gahr, John Gahr, Merrie (Raymond) Spiekerman; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Norton was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and served during WWII.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery, 1 Speedway Road, Madison, at 11 am on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Memorials may be made to Beth Israel Center or Jewish Social Services of Madison, WI.
