Norman Louis Maly

Norman Louis Maly, age 98, of Middleton, WI passed away on Monday, March 9,2026 at his home.

He was born in Middleton on Jan. 12,1928 to Willam and Josephine (Kalscheur) Maly. He married Lorraine A. Birrenkott on Oct. 9, 1956 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Madison.

Norm was born and farmed all his life on the family farm that was established in 1877. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a member of the church choir for more than 70 years. He enjoyed playing baseball for Ashton Home Talent and later for the Old Timer’s softball league. Norm bowled for many years and loved playing solo and euchre with neighbors and friends.

Norman is survived by his wife, Lorraine, daughter, Joanne (Steve) Roudebush; his grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas (Summer), Daniel (Abby) and Kayla Roudebush; great-grandchildren, Easton and Paisley Roudebush; Lorraine’s sister, Helene Pertzborn; and sister-in-law, Valerie Birrenkott; and many nieces, nephews and friends

Norman was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill” Maly; his siblings, Julianna (Ambrose) Meinholz, Anna (Werner) Kessenich, Herbert (Eleanor) Maly, Ethel (Alfred) Ballweg, Roman (Esther) Maly, Walter ( Evelyn) Maly, Rosina ( Herbert) Ballweg, Josephine (Leo) Greiber, Viola (Jim) Kaltenberg, and Antoinette “Neddy” (Gene) Schuster; and his brothers-in-law, Fred Pertzborn and LaVerne Birrenkott.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 7121 County Trunk K, Middleton (Ashton). Friends may call at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5758 Hwy Q, Waunakee on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
