Nola Ann DuPuis (Geisser), of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, at the age of 94.
Born on February 14, 1932, to Edward and Lucile Geisser in Baraboo, Wisconsin, Nola grew up surrounded by family and lifelong friends in the community she always held close to her heart. She graduated from Baraboo High School in 1950 and later married Roland “Rollie” DuPuis in 1954. Nola was the proud, loving mother of four children, Gregg, Mark, Lisa, and Amy.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Gregg (Lori), Mark (DiAnna), Lisa (John) Feiereisen, and Amy (Tony) Duchac; her sister, Gail (Dan) Weigel; and her ten grandchildren: Sarah (Mike) Henke, Erin (Taylor) Rose, Kristen (Levi) Dixon, Jenny DuPuis, Ryan (Megan) DuPuis, Anna (and her fiance, Greg Finley) Feiereisen, Laura Feiereisen, Olivia Feiereisen, Jacob Duchac, and Lucile Duchac. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Brielle and Mikayla Henke, Autumn and Tyson Rose, and Finley and Callum Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollie; her parents; her sister, Nona Isenberg; her brother-in-law, Jim Isenberg; and her great-granddaughter, Addison Nola Dixon. Nola found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling with her husband, sister, and daughters, cheering on UW hockey, volunteering at the Madison Children’s Museum American Girl Benefit Sale, playing bridge, gardening, walking, going to the farmer’s market, and doing water aerobics at Shorewood Pool. She treasured meals shared with friends, but nothing meant more to her than her home in Madison and her family.
Nola was a true friend to many. She lived each day with a positive attitude, meeting life’s joys and challenges with grace, resilience, and a smile. Even in difficult times, she faced her struggles with quiet strength and laughter that stayed with her throughout her life.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many caregivers and staff at The Westerly in Pewaukee for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided to Nola during the past 8 months. Their support and warmth meant so much to her family.
Funeral services will be held at The Cress Center, 6201 University Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Visitation will take place from 10:00–11:00 a.m., followed by the service and a luncheon. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Memorials may be made to The Madison Children’s Museum or The Badger History Group which supports The Museum of Badger Army Ammunition.
