Nettye Heppner

Nettye S. Heppner, age 78 passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Agrace HospiceCare with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 21, 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Irving and Hattie (Barshop) Gleiman. On May 26, 1985, Nettye was united in marriage to Benard Heppner at their home in Park Forest, IL. Nettye began her career in nursing, training in Baltimore, moving to Florida and Pennsylvania to work and then lastly finished her education and graduating from Governor State University with a degree in nursing administration. She resided and worked in Park Forest, IL until her retirement in 1996. In her spare time you could find Nettye cuddling with a good book, working cross word puzzles and watching a World War II documentary. Even though she enjoyed the amenities of modern technology, she loved to write and receive a hand written letter from family and friends. Nettye will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Ben Heppner of Sun Prairie, her four children; Jeff (Tracy) Jacobson of Edwardsville, IL, Marcia (Rob) Glennon of Sun Prairie, Christine (Andy) Stone of Springvalley, IL and Bernadine Harvrilla of Worth, IL, nine grandchildren; Josh, Jordan, Allison, Tim, Jennifer (Chris), Amanda, Shelly, David and Brittany, two great grandchildren and a brother; Donald Gleiman of Reisterstown, Maryland.
Nettye was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law; Barbara "Bunnie" Gleiman.
Funeral services will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 3:00 pm. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm before and after the funeral.
