Neolaite

Neola (Schenck) Srite was born July 19, 1922 in Clarinda, the daughter of Ray and Zelma (Anderson) Schenck. She passed away on Monday afternoon, April 15, in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 90. Neola grew up in Clarinda where she graduated from high school in 1940. On July 26, 1942 she married Melvin Srite. They had one daughter, Paula. Neola worked for Paris-Dunn before she got married and worked briefly for the War Department in Washington D.C. during World War II. After marriage she lived in Portland, Oregon doing secretarial work while Melvin worked at the shipyards. They came back to Clarinda in 1944. She then worked as a secretary for Lisle Corporation until 1954. Some of her favorite past-times were painting, gardening, reading, and playing the piano. She continued to play the piano until a few months before her death. She also enjoyed helping with and attending her class reunions. Survivors include her daughter, Paula, of Madison, Wisconsin; her brother, Ronald Schenck, of Clarinda; and nieces and nephews.
