MADISON/PITTSBURGH
Nathan Josephson, age 99 of Madison, WI. Formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on November 7, 2017. Nate was born in Pittsburgh on November 3, 1918 to the late Israel and Clara Josephson.
Nate is survived by his wife Fay; daughter, Sherry (Michael) Lessing, and granddaughter, Amy (Beau) Thompson.
Nate was married to his love Fay for 51 years. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and lived almost his entire life there. He and Fay recently moved to Madison to be in the care of his children and grandchildren. Nate was a Patriot who served his country in World War II. He was in Europe and was part of the Battle of the Bulge. After serving in the US Army, he returned to Pittsburgh. He spent the next portion of his life in the home improvement industry. During his early retirement, Nate and Fay traveled and saw much of the United States. They also traveled to the former USSR to visit his relatives in St. Petersburg. Nate was an avid tennis player until the age of 87. Until his last days, Nate was a Pittsburgh Pirate and Steeler fan and loved watching as many games as possible. Nate was a very kind person and will be missed by his family.
Graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery on Thursday November 9, 2017 at 2pm.
Visitation at the home of Michael and Sherry Lessing, 906 Hidden Cave Rd, Madison, WI on Thursday evening from 5pm - 8pm.
