Nancy Steckbauer

Stoughton- Nancy Steckbauer, age 84, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018. She was born in Kenosha on May 10, 1934 the daughter of Edward and May "Billie" Evans. Nancy graduated from UW Whitewater in 1956 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. On June 16, 1956 she married Donald Steckbauer in Salem. Together they raised four children, enjoyed camping, travelling and spending time at the cabin up north. Nancy was a member of Stoughton United Methodist church. She enjoyed music and sang in the church choir and the Stoughton festival choir. She enjoyed playing Bridge. Nancy was an avid sports fan, especially Packers and Badgers. She supported and attended all of her children and grandchildren's performing arts and sporting events. Nancy especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald; four children, Steven (Allison), Kathy (Dave) Turensky, Tracy (Wally) Wurtzler, and David (Kerry); 10 grandchildren, Josh and Ashley Turensky, Kyle Steckbauer, Megan (Ethan) Bancroft, Stephanie (Jordan) Hillis, Erin (Marv) Meronk, Sheri (Allan) Kulas, Travis (Chelsea) Steckbauer, Kellie (fiance, Blake) and Bryce (friend, Holly); and six great grandchildren, Jayden, Taylor, Tessa, Noah, Theo and Kaylie. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Stoughton United Methodist Church, 525 Lincoln Avenue, Stoughton, with Rev. Cathy Christman officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery South. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, following the burial, in the church fellowship hall. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at church. Memorials may be made to Stoughton Hospital Foundation.
