Nancy Jeanne Vivian Okey, 97, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, at Oakwood Village in Madison, WI. Born in Hibbing, MN, February 12, 1928, to Dr. Robert Stansmore Vivian and Dora M. Vivian, she was raised in Beloit, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Speech Correction. Nancy met her future husband, Paul A. Okey, while at the UW and they married in 1951. They lived one year in Milwaukee and then moved to Madison, where they raised their family and lived for the remainder of their married life. Nancy was involved in several organizations and activities in Orchard Ridge in the early years. Paul and Nancy enjoyed being seasonal residents of Naples, Florida after Paul’s retirement.
Nancy will be greatly missed and remembered for her witticisms, laughter, and positive outlook on life. She loved playing bridge, socializing with friends, knitting, and reading. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Paula (Raymond) Zwiebel of Lodi, WI and Naples, FL; grandchildren Tim and Jenny Zwiebel, and Michael Okey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 53 years, Paul Okey, and her son, Jeff Okey. A private burial will be held later.
