Madison- Nancy Jean Mustapich (Mustapic), age 54, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her home in Madison after three and a half years with colon cancer.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her husband, Lawrence "Joe" Anderson, daughter Nicole (Richard) Anderson, sons Adrian (Elyse) Anderson and Sean Anderson, her sister Susan Mustapich, mother-in-law Lorraine Wiessinger, granddaughter Coraline Anderson and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Clifford Mustapic and mother Jean (Milisa) Mustapic.
Nancy was born on March 20, 1960 in Jamaica, NY and was raised in St. James, NY. She graduated from Elmira College with a B.A. in English Literature in 1982. Nancy married Lawrence J. Anderson in 1983 and brought up their three children in the good, country life of rural Sauk County. They moved to Madison in 2013. Nancy loved her job at the Chazen Museum of Art where she was employed for the last 15 years.
Nancy was a lover of the arts. She was an accomplished jewelry artist for over 20 years. She also enjoyed designing and constructing mosaics and crafted a mosaic cow for the "Cow Parade Madison" in 2006. She took pleasure in tending her flower gardens, playing Scrabble with Joe, and traveling. She will be remembered for her smile, her creativity, and her love of all furry animals.
Nancy experienced one of the greatest joys of her life when she was present at the birth of her granddaughter, Coraline Jean Anderson, on November 16, 2013.
A celebration of Nancy's life will be from 4-7 PM on Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Cress Center, 6021 University Avenue, Madison. A time of sharing will commence at 6 PM on Friday. A private burial will take place at Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gildas Club, Madison or the ASPCA.
Nancy wishes to thank Dr. Noelle LoConte and Dr. Mihal Davis of the Carbone Cancer Center for their care during her illness.
