Nancy Johnson

Madison/New Glarus - Nancy Lee Johnson, age 82, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was born in Blue Mounds on November 25, 1939. Nancy married Everette Johnson on April 12, 1958, in Mt Horeb.

Nancy enjoyed playing Euchre several times a week in and around the New Glarus area, gambling at Ho-Chunk casino in Madison, and spending time with family and friends. Nancy was a great cook and an excellent baker. She truly enjoyed making treats for family and friends. Nancy employed an open-door policy where everyone was welcome. Strangers and friends alike were invited in for a cup of coffee and baked goods. She was always ready for a good game of Euchre or ship captain and crew.

She is survived by her children, James (Rebecca) & Merri (Brian) Helt, son-in-law, Lyle David, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her special friend Harry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearl Wirth, her husband Everette, Daughter Peggy, and son Jeff. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the VFW Post 9511, 2787 Erbe Rd, Blue Mounds. A private burial will take place at a later date.
