Nancy Johnson

March 6, 1933 — January 22, 2016

Nancy Ann Johnson, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Agrace Hospice Care Center on January 22, 2016 at the age of 82. Nancy was born on March 6, 1933 to Michael and Frances Myszka in Wausau, Wisconsin.

She was a Registered Nurse, providing pediatric and geriatric care in Wausau, California, and Madison, Wisconsin. On May 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to her late husband William Johnson at St. Michael's Catholic Church, who together welcomed and raised seven children in Madison, all of whom they loved. Nancy retired from nursing in 1977 in order to provide special care and attention to her youngest son, Christopher.

She is survived by her children: Stephen, William, Anthony, Thomas, Daniel (Sheryl), Amy (Steve Ulrich), and Christopher, as well as two grand-daughters Alexis (Jacob) Dorn and Morgan Johnson; sisters-in-law Delores Myszka and Mary Myszka, and close family friend Arlene Buchberger. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother David, and her husband of more than 50 years, William.

She and the family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to her Kendall Avenue neighbors, especially John and Julie Franz. The Johnson family also greatly appreciates the care and comfort provided by the dedicated staff at Agrace Hospice Care in her final days.

A visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2121 Rowley Avenue in Madison, beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., with Father Simon-Felix Michalski, O.P. presiding. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Goodwill Industries, Community Support Network, or Catholic Charities. Contributions may also be made payable to the 'Christopher G. Johnson Supplemental Needs Trust Fund'.
