Sun Prairie - Nadine Marie Troia, age 58, lost her two year battle to glioblastoma multiforme, a very aggressive brain cancer on June 14, 2017. She passed away while listening to a treasured love song, while being held by her husband and surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on May 16, 1959 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of Norman and Patricia (Balzer) Suhr.
Nadine graduated from Aquinas High School and the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She worked for the State of Wisconsin for 23 years, most recently for the Department of Employee Trust Funds. She was a beloved mother to her children and to their many friends and worked extremely hard her entire life for everything she had. She loved volunteering for Meals on Wheels, running and wine tasting. Nadine married Philip Troia on January 27, 2015 in Sint Maarten and upon returning from their honeymoon, was diagnosed with brain cancer. They spent her last two years traveling the world and never giving up hope. Her loved ones will never forget her contagious laugh, smile or determination. She inspired many and touched everyone she met.
Nadine is survived by her loving husband; Philip Troia of Sun Prairie, two children; Jessica O'Hara and Michael Konrath, two step children; Tony (Sarah) Troia and Brad (Heather) Troia, three grandchildren; Aiden, Allie and Kacen, her father Norman Suhr, and three siblings; Jeff (Jo) Suhr, Todd (Jane) Suhr and Laurie (Richard) Washburn. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends.
Nadine was preceded in death by her mother Patricia "Pat" Suhr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALBERT THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2420 St. Albert the Great Drive, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin 53590 on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 12:00 Noon with Father Donn Heiar presiding. A time to gather will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. A celebration of her life will follow Mass at their favorite restaurant, Buck and Honey's, after which the celebration will continue at their house so Nadine can show off her last renovation.

Her family is extremely grateful to everyone who has shown love and compassion to them and to Nadine throughout this difficult journey especially during her last few weeks.
