Mount Horeb

Myrl D. McCully, age 72, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 following a long illness.

Myrl was a long time resident of the Madison area, spending the last 13 years in Mount Horeb. He was a member of the Mount Horeb Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked in lumber sales until his retirement. Following retirement, he got his real estate license and worked for First Weber for 5 years.

Myrl liked watching sports, especially the Badgers and Brewers. Spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, was what he loved most of all.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary; children Chad (Jenny) Minter and their children, Kevin and Zachary of Mount Horeb, Jeff (Amanda) Minter and their children, Savanah, Alyssa, and Grayson of Belleville, Brian (Marie) McCully and their children, Connor and Allison of California, and Deanna (Charles) Lampley and their children, Gavin Lampley and Karissa Schrenckengost of California; and sister, Betty Johnson of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ila Tharp, Jolene Walker, Minerva Cummings; and brothers, Harold, Ted, Wayne and Donald McCully.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Michael Goldrosen for his care throughout the years and Mount Horeb Police Department, Mount Horeb Fire & EMS and Fitch-Rona Paramedics for all their efforts.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison with Pastor John Twiton officiating. Family will greet friends after 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
