Madison - Mrs. Eloise Tierney Hagedorn passed away on Sunday April 1, 2018 at Oakwood Village. Eloise was born on February 23, 1920 in Lewistown, Montana, the daughter of William and Ella Tierney. She was a graduate of the Fergus County High School and was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1942. On July 18, 1943, she married Lt. Donald J. Hagedorn in the Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they lived in a trailer on the Salt Flats at Wendover Field, where he was stationed. On July 18, 1993, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by attending services at the same church with their family. Don and Eloise enjoyed raising their son, Jim, and living their lives together as part of the Madison and University of Wisconsin communities.
Eloise was preceded in death by her devoted husband Don in 2007; their son, Jim, in 1998, her great grandson, Harry, in 2013, her parents, brother, and sister.
Eloise is survived by her two great grandsons, Ben and James; three granddaughters, Kristen (Brian) Katulis of North Bethesda, MD, Erin (Andrew) Graham of Great Barrington, MA, and Sarah Hagedorn of Beverly, MA; her daughter-in-law Orlene Hagedorn of Jamaica Plain, MA; several nieces and nephews; and Bob Rand and Sue Treichel, much-loved friends of the family.
She will be remembered as a welcoming hostess, true friend, devoted wife, and loving grandmother. Services will be held privately. Your memories can be shared with the family, care of Sarah Hagedorn, 14 Pleasant Street Unit 14B, Beverly, MA 01915.
