Morgan Turnquist

Madison - Morgan Margaret Turnquist, age 17 passed away on July 7th surrounded by her family at home after a courageous 13 year battle with brain cancer.
She was born on September 5, 1995 in Madison, the daughter of Ted and Tammy (Lamberty) Turnquist.
Morgan was loved by everyone she knew. She was kind hearted and faithful to her God and her family and friends. Everyone who knew Morgan knew her as a strong person that never dwelled on her health problems and seldom complained about the path that God had chosen for her. She enjoyed family time and country music especially Carrie Underwood. She loved her dog "Simba". She enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher at Eastside Lutheran Church and loved little children. She loved working at McDonald's and babysitting the Barrett girls. Her favorite past times included any country music concert and spending "quality time" with mom (her "best friend") and the rest of our family.

Morgan is survived her loving parents, Ted and Tammy Turnquist of Madison, her brother; Travis Turnquist, maternal grandparents; John (Marcia Hur) Lamberty of Verona and Pat (Dan) Thielmann of Middleton, paternal grandparents; Terry and Pat Turnquist of Baraboo, three uncles; Eric (Heidi) Turnquist of Bristol, Rick Lamberty of Mount Vernon and Clayton (Crystal) Lamberty of Austin, TX, an aunt; Amy (Mark) Elliott of Middleton, great grandmother; Margaret Lamberty of Verona, and her four legged friend and companion; Simba

Funeral services will be held at EASTSIDE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2310 Independence Dr., Madison, on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Glen Schmiege and Pastor Mike Novotny officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm and again at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of services.
Private graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Morgan to the Morgan Turnquist Memorial Fund.
All Morgan ever wanted was to be ordinary. This was not to be, she was extraordinary. She touched so many lives in her short time on this earth. While cancer was all she knew, she refused to let it define her. She once was asked if all of her pain and suffering would be worth it if just one person came to faith in Jesus as a result of her story, her answer was yes. We, as her family and friends are honored to call her our daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. We will miss her so very much. Not a day will go by without thoughts of her. Our hearts are broken, but we will stand firm in our knowledge of her salvation and that we will see each other again.
