Wausau/Deerfield- Mildred G. Stolen, age 94, died on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Wausau. She was born in Madison on November 15, 1919, the daughter of Herman "Jack" and Anna Korn of Madison. Mildred and her brother Donald grew up in Madison a short distance from the state capitol building. After completing school, Mildred worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company and Madison businesses. In 1940 Mildred married Andreas "Andy" Stolen of Madison. In 1946 they moved from Madison to rural Deerfield after purchasing a farm there. After Andy died, Mildred moved to Wausau in 2008 in order to be near her son and daughter-in-law. Mildred is survived by her son, James (Patricia) Stolen of Wausau; grandson, Craig (Kira) Stolen and great grandchildren, Kaisa and Siri, all of New Brighton, MN, and grandson, Derek (Stephanie) Stolen of Anchorage, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church, 3494 Oak Park Road, Deerfield. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon, in the education center, following the burial. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services on Monday at church. The family requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be directed to St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church of Deerfield, or to the Salvation Army. Please share your memories at:
