Madison - Mildred A. Sell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1920 in Cashton, WI the daughter of Martin and Frances (Hillebrandt) Hansen. Millie was married 59 years to Robert F. Sell. Her joys in life included card games, knitting, and sports, including the Badgers, Packers and Brewers. Millie's quick wit kept her many friends laughing. An attribute she had till her last days. Millie was proud of her family and cherished her relationships with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2013; her parents; sisters, Dorothy Hansen and Bernice Tidwell; and her brother, Robert Hansen. Millie is survived by her children, Steve (Judy), Betsy, Dave (Laura) and Jim; six grandchildren, Henry, Grace, Michael (Jess), Robert, Connor and Derek; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Jordan; and other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Douglas Dushack and Fr. Bart Timmerman at OAKWOOD VILLAGE UNIVERSITY WOODS CAMPUS IN THE RESURRECTION CHAPEL, 6205 Mineral Point Road, Madison on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities, PO Box 46550, Madison, WI 53744-6550; or Society of St. Vincent de Paul, PO Box 259686, Madison, WI 53725-9686; or a charity of your choice.
The family will be forever grateful for the loving friendships made at Oakwood. The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Meriter Hospital 9th floor nursing station and Peggy in the ER; and the family would like to especially thank Dr. Brian Maggenheim at UW Clinics for his continued compassionate care.
Millie will always be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, having tremendous faith, and she deeply touched all those that got to know her.
