Michael Wentworth

Sun Prairie - Michael "Mike" H. Wentworth, age 54 passed away with loving family by his side on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at UW Hospital following complications from a recent heart surgery. He was born on December 6, 1959 in Edgerton, Wisconsin the son of Lyle and Kathleen (Geiter) Wentworth. On May 5, 1984, Mike was united in marriage to Catherine Ann Zander. Together they raised two beautiful daughters. Mike worked for Leon's Roofing and Siding for over 21 years. He loved taking family vacations and especially loved taking motorcycle trips with Cathy. In his spare time, he loved to play board games and cards, especially a good game of Texas Hold 'Em. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Mike touched many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cathy; his two daughters, Jamie (Daniel) Schwoerer and Nichole Wentworth; stepfather Norman Taylor; eight siblings, Alice (Randy) Guest, Joan (John Ebbott) Wentworth, David (Connie) Wentworth, Robert (Kris) Wentworth, Beth (Dwayne Wood) Wentworth, Mary (Gary) Harris, John (Vicki) Wentworth, and James (Josie) Wentworth along with five step brothers and one step sister. He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Kenneth Wentworth.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie. A visitation will precede the celebration of life and will be held at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mike to the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674 or the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin, 16655 W. Blue Mound Rd, Suite 240, Brookfield, WI 53005.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at UW Hospital on the Cardiac ICU floor for all of the care and attention given to Mike and his family.
