Michael Anthony Voica, age 69, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at his home in Waunakee, WI, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Illinois July 28, 1955, to the late Rudolph and Mary Rita (Dusthimer) Voica, Mike was raised in central Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where he also played collegiate basketball.
Mike was a beloved husband, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend whose quiet strength and love touched everyone around him. A dedicated member of the IT development team at Certco, he brought both skill and heart to his work.
Mike was an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for all the Wisconsin teams, while remaining loyal to his beloved White Sox. He enjoyed years of playing softball and basketball with his close-knit group of friends. Mike had a deep love for dogs. His compassion and kindness extended to every four-legged friend he met, especially his dear Zoey and Brienne. A tech enthusiast at heart, he found joy in all things electronic, from computers and TVs to hi-fi stereos and every gadget in between. Best Buy may also be feeling our loss.
Mike leaves behind his devoted wife, Sandy Voica, three stepchildren Brenda Behm, Bob (Catie) Tollefson, and Dan (Melody) Tollefson, granddaughters Brynn Cash and Madison Behm, who loved her “Bumpa” dearly and was blessed, by his steady guidance and support. He is also survived by his brother Joe, wife Paula, and their children Jay and Brooke, with whom he shared a lifelong bond, as well as his extended family of Andrea, Kirk, and Noah Blader. A special thank you to Mike’s co-workers at Certco, his longtime friends, and basketball crew for their love and support.
