McFarland/Appleton - Michael "Mick" Rein lost his battle on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 at the age of 58. He endured more than any person should have to and lived his life with grace and determination.
We will greatly miss his smile, voice, sense of humor, charm, wit, sass, and most of all his advice. He was a very generous and selfless man who put those he loved and cared for first. It brings all of us great joy to know that Mick was able to give back by donating his eyes. We were blessed to have almost 15 extra years after his heart transplant and will treasure them forever.
There will never be a day when you will not be missed. Rest in peace, Mick. You are so loved and will always be with us in our hearts.
We need to keep this short because Dad would already be pissed.
Giving advice like only he can, Mick told us this while he was in the hospital: "It's the cycle of life. I know it sucks, but no one gets out of here alive. You only get one shot at this thing, so enjoy it."
Mick's Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, October 2nd at Cress Funeral Home, 6021 University Ave, Madison, from 2-5 p.m. Appetizers and drinks will be provided.
Per Mick, casual dress is expected.
