Melvin Siedband

Madison - Dr. Melvin P. Siedband, age 89, passed away on February 1, 2018. Our dad and Zadie.

Professor Emeritus, Professional Engineer, physicist, philosopher, Rotarian, cyclist and friend.
Mel was a longtime University of Wisconsin medical physics professor. He joined the faculty in 1973 after serving as engineering manager with Westinghouse in Baltimore and previously held positions with CGR and Martin Marietta. A graduate of the University of Washington and Johns Hopkins University, he was most proud of his PhD from the Medical College of Wisconsin which he completed in his late sixties. Mel also served in the US Army and Air Force.

He is survived by his sons, Rick (Carol Sarnat) and Marc (Debbie); grandsons, Elan, David and Michael (Asya Agulnik); granddaughter, Kyla and great grandson, Pasha.

A funeral service will be held at TEMPLE BETH EL, 2702 Arbor Drive, Madison, on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at the Beth El Memorial Park in Reisterstown, Maryland.
