Deerfield - Melvin Hubred, age 96, passed away at his home surrounded by family on June 24, 2015. He was born on January 18, 1919 in Stoughton, son of John and Karen (Mickelson) Hubred. He married Evelyn Gyland in August of 1940. Melvin was a farmer all his life. He also did carpentry and other mechanical jobs.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, four children; Mel (Frannie) Hubred, Barbara (Doug) Hildrech, Ronald (Sue) Hubred, and Kim (Kae) Hubred. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Oswald, Leonard, Kenneth, and Loyd.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church 3494 Oak Park Rd., Deerfield. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday. Melvin will be laid to rest at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Cemetery. Following the services a meal will be served at Deerfield Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall on 206 S. Main St., Deerfield.
The family would like to thank St. Judes Hospice for the good care they gave Melvin and special thank you to our granddaughter Karlee who helped us through grandpa's needs.
