Max Harn, Sr.

September 9, 1942 — June 26, 2012

MADISON--Max M. Harn Sr. died on June 26, in Madison, WI from complications due to lung cancer. Max was born in Neenah, WI on 9-3-42, the son of Mack Michael and Helen (Valeri) Harn. Max grew up in Neenah and Winchester, and attended school in New London. He was a veteran having served as a radioman in the US Navy and was stationed in Panama. He married Coralia Pasco in Panama on October 4, 1963.

Max is survived by his wife, Coralia Pasco Harn; children, Max Harn Jr, Cora Higginbotham (Paul), Julie Winzenried (Brian), Jennifer Patrello (Patrick); grandchildren, Zoe HarnEnz, Claire HarnEnz, Paul Higginbotham Jr., Julian Higginbotham, Michael Higginbotham, Brian Winzenried Jr., Annika Winzenried, Oliver Max Winzenried, Patrick Patrello III, and Payton Pasco Patrello; siblings, Mike Harn Valeri (Carol), Mark Harn (Jeanann), Merry Stern (Allan), Merlin Harn (Peggy), Milo Harn (Ivonne), Mimi Pazureck (William), Mathew Harn (Jeanine), Milton Harn (Sue), Melvin Harn (Mary); mother-in-law, Edna Pasco; brother-in-laws, Carlos Pasco (Evelia), Raul Pasco (Eliana). He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and extended family in Wisconsin, U.S. and Panama. Max was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Manuel and his son Tony.

Max loved Panama as a second home. He lived and farmed in Berlin for over 20 years and lived in Madison WI since 1993. He owned several furniture stores in the Fox Valley, and owned Stella's Bakery for 24 years. He had a popular stand and strong presence at the Dane County Farmers Market. Max adored his ten grandchildren; he enjoyed outdoors, cooking, gardening, family and spent his last months' enjoying his cattle farm in Richland Center.
His family and friends will miss his larger-than-life personality, his sense of humor, his generosity, and wonderful cooking.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Friday June 29, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. with Father John Nellissery presiding. A visitation will be held at church after 1:00 p.m. until the time of mass.
