Mavis Conrad

July 3, 1927 — March 21, 2015

Monona- Monona- Mavis Conrad, age 87, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Agrace HospiceCare Center. She was born in Baraboo on July 3, 1927, the daughter of Albert and Jennie (Olson) Flinn. Mavis attended Elroy schools and graduated from Madison East High School. On June 30, 1951 she married Edward Conrad. Together they lived in Monona for over 60 years, where she enjoyed bowling and playing the organ. Mavis liked to travel, especially with her husband, son, and friends. For the last 20 years she has been the office administrator for the Monona Senior Center and enjoyed socializing with everyone who came through the door. Mavis is survived by her son, Kenneth Conrad; two nieces, Sharon (Scott) Shumway of Martinez, CA, and Kristine (Dave) Hanson of Stoughton; and her best friend, Shirley Buntin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; and two sons, Ricky and David. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Avenue, Madison, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Friends may greet the family from 1:00 PM until the time of services Saturday. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Monona Senior Center. A special thank you to the staffs of St. Mary's Hospital, Oak Park Place, and Agrace HospiceCare Inc. for their special care of Mavis. Please share your memories.
