Maryann Chritton

July 15, 1925 — November 7, 2012

STOUGHTON/MADISON
MaryAnn Elizabeth Chritton, age 87 passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

MaryAnn was born to Herman and Antoinette (Ustad) Arneson on July 15, 1925. MaryAnn was raised on her family's farm along with her three brothers Howard, Fredrick (Fritz), and Helmer (Junior), in the Town of Pleasant Springs. MaryAnn was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Stoughton, WI, and graduated from Stoughton High School.

On April 6, 1046 MaryAnn married Lyle F. Chritton shortly after Lyle returned from World War II. In 1954 Lyle and MaryAnn moved from Stoughton Wisconsin to Madison along with their three sons, James, David and Gerald. Mary Ann spent her early married life raising her son's and working part time for Rennebohm Drug Store in the Madison East Shopping Center. When her sons were old enough, MaryAnn went to work for Demco Library Supplies. MaryAnn worked in customer service at Demco for over 25 years.

MaryAnn and Lyle enjoyed spending time with friends and family at their property at Lake Camelot. In addition to camping, Lyle and Mary enjoyed traveling with MaryAnn's brother Fritz and his wife Helen Arneson. Favorite places were Las Vegas, Florida, Lake Camelot, and local trips to Area casinos.

MaryAnn loved to laugh and joke. She was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage and joked with her family about being "Norwegian" all the time. Our mother loved to socialize and loved to cook. Sunday night dinners, holidays, and birthdays for her son's and their wives was always a special time for Mom.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband Lyle (July 18, 2012), parents Herman and Antoinette, brothers, Howard and wife Evelyn, Fritz and wife Helen, and Junior; infant grandson, Ryan, 2 nephews, 2 nieces, and many brothers and sisters-in-laws.

MaryAnn is survived by sons, James (Mollie), David (Evy) and children Chad, Valerie, Erin, Scott, and Andrew, and Gerald (Nicki), and son Cole, sister-in-law, Elisabeth Arneson; brother-in-law, W.E. Chritton, aunt Caroline Ustad; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
