Mary V. Zeasman, age 84, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25 with family by her side. She was born on April 16, 1928 in Madison, the daughter of Otto and Gladys (Andrews) Zeasman.
A graduate of UW-Madison, Mary spent her life doing what she loved - teaching. She taught Home Economics in Mineral Point and New Glarus, and touched the lives of students across the globe in Guam for eight years and Australia for two years. After her teaching career, Mary used her expertise and love for fabrics as an employee at Northwest Fabrics. She cherished her dolls and teddy bears, and created many beautiful quilts that reflected her bright personality. To pass her artistic talent to a new generation, Mary taught quilting classes at MATC for many years. She continued to share her passion as a volunteer with the Madison Children's Museum Benefit Sale for the rest of her life.
Mary is survived by her brothers, Ira (Jean) Zeasman of Seattle, WA, James (Rosemary) Zeasman of Mt. Horeb; Sister-in-law, Joanne Zeasman of Elkhorn; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Zeasman and John Zeasman; Sister, Helen Tholo; and great nephew, Scott Zeasman.
